The garden of Eden

The Arabic word “riyad” designates an enclosed garden, evocation of the Garden of Eden. 

In accordance with this tradition, the courtyard-garden of Riyad el Mezouar is planted with aromatic and odorous plants: myrtle, laurel, rosemary, geranium rosa, santoline, basil, lavender, etc., white roses and fruit trees (orange, grapefruit).

At the centre of the patio, with its marble fountain and hand-crafted green ceramic tiles, the beautiful 5.50 x 3.10 m (18.04 x 10.17 ft) swimming pool is a reminiscence of the pools of the ancient coranic schools.
